Fire-resistant Glass
Fires can start anywhere, and it’s important that fires, in the event they cannot be extinguished by traditional means, should be contained for as long as possible. Fire-resistant glass is designed to contain flames and inflammable gases, but the glass is not designed to prevent heat transfer.
Fire-insulating glass is available that not only contains the flames and inflammable gases, but also prevents heat transfer to the other side. Our wired glass usually comes with either a 30 or 60 minute fire-resistance rating, but we are able to source from all major glass suppliers if a longer duration is required.
If requested, we can also provide details on full glazing installation solutions to fully maximize the benefits of fire-resistant glass. If the glass is to be installed in doors, side panels, or low-height windows, our wired glass conforms to BS 6206 Class C for safety glass where necessary.

When a window is damaged, be it broken glass or the window frame, our professional local Poynton glaziers are only a short distance away to fix the problem. We can also modernise your existing frames with more efficient window styles including double glazing, aluminum replacement windows and Low - E Glass.
For Poynton shop front windows we would use laminate glass, which conforms to BS 6206. Large and/or thicker than normal panes will usually be a next day service, dependant on glass dimensions. Our Poynton double-glazed units take approximately two to three days to order, and all our units come with a manufacturers guarantee.
